Mark III Volquartsen accurizing kit questions

Post by TD-Max »

I'm new to pistols, but would assume that a good pistol trigger should function like a rifle trigger and have no pre-travel. I have the VQ kit installed in my MKIII, but when I adjust the pre travel to where I like it, it will not "cock" after being cycled. If I back out the pre-travel screw I will hear it click as it cocks.

Am I missing something? Is this normal? As good as it can be?

There needs to be a littel pretravel for the sear to reset. Some people say there is a minimum of 1/32" pre-travel for the sear to reset. You'll just have to test and see where your setup likes it. I hope to get that same kit soon. Let me know how it works.
