Gopher Shootin’ 7/13

Was able to go out again today for some more gopher Shootin’.
Although we haven’t had a really good hard rain the alfalfa and grass are still growing pretty rapidly.
Trying to get in as much shooting as possible, before the dreaded long grass once again overcomes the
shooting for these great little targets.
For Rick and others here is my setup:
Remington 700 SPS
CZ-USA 527
Both are outfitted with Leupold VX-3i 6.5-20x50 scopes with the “Varmint Hunters” reticle. These are fantastic scopes,
very easy switching from one gun to the other. Originally had a Burris Fullfield E1 6.5-20x50 with Ballistic Plex E1 reticle on the CZ,
but the Burris was just “darker glass” when switching from the Leupold to the Burris, so I found the other Leupold scope on
E-Bay.
Mountains in background are Judith Mountains here in Central Montana.

That's what we're talkin' about!

That's some prime country you're shooting, and your setup looks pretty familiar too. If you really want to get more enjoyment out of your Caldwell Stable Table, get some good thick plywood or melemene and make a larger bench top. You'll then have room for your gear, shooting arm/elbow, and no danger of pushing your front rest off the bench top. It will really make a difference.

Glad you were able to get out before it gets even hotter for all of us. We've had first cut, so the rats really are visible, but it's so bleedin' hot after 0900, all the rats go down till much later in the evening. The chucks here will soon be down too for the same reason. Git after them while we can!

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.
